Day 9 – True understanding of Jesus

For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus. And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.” – Acts 9:19-20

Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. – Matthew 16:13-18

Pray that like Paul, ISIS members would come to have a right understanding of Jesus. Before his experience Paul had a wrong view of Jesus. But Jesus brought the true revelation of who he was and that brought about a radical change in Paul’s life. ISIS members (and Muslims in general) have misunderstood the term “Son of God”. They believe that this means a physical son, which means that Mary and God had a sexual relationship and had a son together. Pray that God would remove all the “misunderstandings” (break down the walls) about himself and would allow them to know him rightly so that they would be able to proclaim the truth about who he is.
