Day 19 – Gentleness

Speak these verses over them:

You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great. You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip. – Psalm 18:35-36

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. – 2 Timothy 2:24-26

Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak, and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

May my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, like gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb.

For I will proclaim the name of the Lord; ascribe greatness to our God! – Deuteronomy 32:1-3

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:17-18

Pray that they would know the gentle touch of our Lord. Pray that they would give their burdens to Christ and rest in his gentleness. Pray that they would know the wisdom from above that is gentle. Pray that they would respond to others with gentleness!

  1. Dear Lord hear me as I cry unto You for you to bless every single member of ISIS with Your Gentleness. Teach them to relax in Your Presence so that they see all their fears disappear. May they abide in Your Love and experience the atmosphere of loving, understanding towards all mankind. Then will You surround them with a screen of protection which keeps all that is evil from them. It is fashioned by their words deeds and attitude of mind towards others. May they be quick to learn that Jesus wants to give them all things, in good measure, pressed down and overflowing. Persevere, persevere in seeking the Gentleness of Jesus. Amen

  2. Dear Father, thank you that you are in the process of demonstrating your gentleness to muslims and all those who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. Come and do awesome things for which we did not look. Thank you for those you will save today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  3. Dear Lord, reveal Your gentle heart to terrorists worldwide today. May they come to know the One True God as You lead them to the cross of Christ by the Holy Spirit! In Your Son’s Name we pray. Praise Jesus!

  4. Father, gentleness must be such a foreign concept to them. Help them to remember a time when they experienced it. Help them to long for the peace and love that they felt when they experienced it. Spur them on to seek gentleness and I pray that gentleness would find them. Break their stony hearts which have been hardened through hard training and harshness. Let Your gentleness water them and bring life. May that life flow from them to others. May their experience of gentleness become their deepest desire.

  5. Thank you, Dear Father, for your consistent gentle prodding and leading as we move toward eternity with Jesus. Please let muslims want to follow him YOUR way, surrendering to him and living for him alone. Come and disarm all of isis physically and spiritually, and open their hearts to your love in Christ. we give you glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  6. Dear Father, the song today says we were made for loving you. You created each human being for that purpose–to know and love you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. Please use your gentle magnetism, your drawing power that Jesus talks about in John 6 to bring isis and all muslims to you. Thank you for those you will save today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  7. Lord, I ask for a spirit of peace and gentleness to touch the hearts of ISIS members today. May they hear your gentle voice, and come to know you as savior and Lord. Set them free today, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

  8. Dear Father, thank you that you don’t treat us as our sins deserve. You made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might embody the very righteousness of God. Jesus suffered violence so we might be treated with gentleness by you. Perhaps man’s sin nature understands violence more easily than it does gentleness. Please sovereignly intervene today, Lord, in Turkey and all the other places where islam is agitating and fomenting violence. Settle these deceived people with your gentle strength and compel them to see the truth of Jesus. Come and do awesome things today. Thank you for what you will do and those you will save, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  9. Dear Lord, like MaryAnn says, You are our good and gentle Shepherd. Be glorified today in this chaotic world we live in, and bring your peace and gentleness to those lost sheep who need to be rescued from the evil one. Be Mighty to Save today! In the Wonderful and Precious Name of Jesus, we pray, amen.

  10. Dear Father, thank you that you do not treat us as our sin deserves. Thank you for the indescribable gift of Jesus, our good and gentle Shepherd. You are no respecter of persons; you so loved the world–including isis and all muslims–that you sent Jesus. Please save millions of them, Lord, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  11. Dear Father, you are the only wise God. You have blessed us with the grace and wisdom that comes from above, from you, so that we could make the choice to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Please give all those trapped in islam the same gentle wisdom to make the same choice, because you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thank you for those you will save today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  12. Lord Jesus
Oh how you love each ISIS member just as you loved Saul (Paul) and, oh my, what a victory. Thank you Lord

  13. Jesus, please open the eyes of the members of ISIS and show them that Jesus, who was gentle and yet bore the weight of every sin, is the image of God his Father. Show them the truth about their false god, and let the Holy Spirit touch their hearts and draw them to Jesus. Lord, please give us gentle hearts that are yielded to Jesus. Please help us to love as you love, forgiving our enemies and praying for their salvation. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  14. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you that here in my country we live in peace and we can freely worship in Spirit and in truth. You have been gentle and merciful with us and we humbly beseech you to deal kindly with these Isis people and their families. We pray that you would touch them with your gentle hand and turn them away from evil violent ways, to open their hearts and turn away from deeds of darkness. Bring them Lord to see their errors and repent and bring them to turn to you in faith for assurance of your forgiveness and mercy.
    In Jesus Precious Name
    Amen

  15. Dear Queen of Heave, Immaculate Virgin Mary, please cover members of ISIS with your Mantel and protect them from the power of Satan. May your gentle hand lead them to Christ Our Lord. Mother, ask your Spouse, Holy Spirit come upon them and bring gentleness to their hearts and melt them with His Love. Amen.

  16. Dear Father, Hosea 6:3 says as we strive to know you, you will come like the rain, spring rain. We pray for the gentle rain of your Holy Spirit to soak through the hard, fallow souls of those cemented in the lies of islam. Soften them. Visit them in dreams and visions. Defeat their false god and bring them to Jesus. Thank you for what you will do today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  17. Dear Father, thank You for calling us to Yourself. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, knows His sheep and calls them by name. He tenderly and gently cares for the sheep of His pasture, leading them along green pastures and streams of water, anointing and binding wounds, providing rest and shelter. Father, may ISIS members and Muslims respond to Your gentle touch, opening their hearts to hear and respond to the gospel, that they too will come into the sheepfold of Jesus. Dispel the lies
they have believed, and cause them to know the wisdom from above which is peaceable, gentle and full of mercy. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

  18. Dear Father, the song today is about that wondrous cross–hardly a picture of gentleness. Isaiah described Jesus as one who would not break a bruised reed or snuff out a smoldering wick, a gentle shepherd who gently leads his sheep. But you had him bruised for our transgressions and wounded for our iniquities–ours and isis’ and all Muslims’. Open our eyes and their eyes to the truth and reality of Jesus. Please do whatever you have to do to conform us and each muslim into the image of Christ. We surrender and we wait for you. Thank you for what you will do today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  19. Dear Father, I agree with Jilly today–thank you for your gentleness. I pray for the women in islam who should know, understand and live in gentleness as Peter says in 1 Peter 3. Help them to know Jesus and become gentle followers who can bring the truth to their men. Thank you for speaking to any who would want to strap on a suicide belt. Please stop them and confront them with your love and gentleness, in Jesus’ name. Amen

  20. Loving God, thank you for your gentleness with each one of us. I pray that all men will come to know you and recognise you for who you are. Touch more members of ISIS with your gentle and powerful touch, that they may turn away from anger, bitterness and violence which they regard as their strength. Come now by your holy and life-giving spirit in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
