Then the Lord spoke to Jonah a second time: “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you.”
This time Jonah obeyed the Lord’s command and went to Nineveh, a city so large that it took three days to see it all. On the day Jonah entered the city, he shouted to the crowds: “Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!” The people of Nineveh believed God’s message, and from the greatest to the least, they declared a fast and put on burlap to show their sorrow.

When the king of Nineveh heard what Jonah was saying, he stepped down from his throne and took off his royal robes. He dressed himself in burlap and sat on a heap of ashes. Then the king and his nobles sent this decree throughout the city:

“No one, not even the animals from your herds and flocks, may eat or drink anything at all. People and animals alike must wear garments of mourning, and everyone must pray earnestly to God. They must turn from their evil ways and stop all their violence. Who can tell? Perhaps even yet God will change his mind and hold back his fierce anger from destroying us.”

When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened. – Jonah 3

Mosul is the main stronghold in Iraq. It is in Nineveh province. Pray that they would, like the Ninevites, repent of their violent ways and serve the Lord! Pray for the total repentance of all that are there; pray that like the Ninevites, the leaders would call corporate repentance and all would come to the Lord!

  1. Dear Father, the song today says that you give us a new song to sing. Thank you for that song of deliverance. We sing and declare that deliverance and the song of salvation to isis and all those shackled by islam. The people of Nineveh repented; please give those living in the same geographic area the same gift and desire, and even fear, so they will come to Jesus and know his real love and freedom. Thank you for what you will do today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  2. Dear Father, you see that yesterday’s prayer got posted today as well. Thank you that it doesn’t bother you, and electronic glitches are not a problem to you. Thank you for intervening in Mosul and throughout Syria and the Middle East. Please disarm every electronic device or bomb or weapon; please frustrate every plan of isis or others who intend to harm your people, whether Christian or Israeli. Thank you for what you will do to bring glory to Jesus and to show your great love and power to this sad and hurting world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  3. Dear Father, as depressing as it is, Ecclesiastes 3:16 describes the world today: “I looked at everything that goes on under the sun and realized that in place of justice, wickedness prevails. In place of righteousness, wrongdoing succeeds.” Things don’t look good in the Middle East today. Please help, Lord. Please let your kingdom come and your will be done today. Please glorify Jesus, and if you wouldn’t mind please do that in a way that people will see it’s you acting sovereignly. Please protect your people, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  4. Father just this morning I saw that there was a beheading of a young boy in IS territory cause he was listening to Western music. It is evil, pure evil. And I know that You weep over the deception of the members of IS. They believe in a lie, a clver lie from the evil one. Father You Yourself said: Do not fear, I have overcome the world through the mouth of Your Son Jesus Christ. Overcome this evil and lead men in charge in Your way. I know that we sinned, we all sin but You want to intervene. We don’t know what to do against it but You have the power and the might to overcome. I praise You for how You saved the people from Nineve in the Bible and I pray: “Show Your power again! In Jesus name.”

  5. Dear Father, more mass slaughter. More evil. I sit here in comfort and your People of the Cross are terrorized and slaughtered. But these are with you. They will never be afraid again, ever. That’s not true for isis or any muslim who dies without Jesus. We pray for those who see us as enemies, who see us as beneath them, who want us conquered, who murder us. Have mercy on each one, please. Whether they are in Mosul or here in my neighborhood, confront them with Jesus. Give them the grace and ability to see truth and repent. Bless each one with salvation. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  6. Lord please transform the lives of many people who are members of ISIS. May Mosul become a centre of goodness and Godliness in contrast to its present position as a source evil

  7. Dear Father, it’s not possible that the leaders of isis don’t know about Christianity. They are not ignorant like the king of Nineveh was. When he heard Jonah’s message he repented, because he was afraid of you and your judgment. Please confront these isis leaders with the truth that if they do not repent and turn to Jesus they are doomed to eternity with their god in hell. Please have mercy on this modern-day Nineveh, and all adherents of islam. Thank you for those leaders that you will confront with Jesus today. We give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  8. Dear Father, we are waiting and trusting. You are working. Thank you that your mercies are new morning by morning. We don’t sit like Jonah to watch you destroy, but to watch you save and work miracles. We give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  9. Abba Father Yehovah, please make all of Your Kadoshim [Holy Ones] immune to the actions of the enemy, evil spirits. You do not want to lose even one soul. We pray for all Nations. When the evil one strikes at us, let not his venom harm us. When he trips us up, let our feet find refuge and strength on Your solid and narrow path of tribulations to the narrow gate that we do not stray to the right or left. When he lies to us, let our ears spit out his lies before they ever reach our heart, let those lies be penetrated and destroyed with the Dividing Line of the Breath of Life – Your Word living in us. When he poisons us with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (I John 2), let us NOT drink his poison, but be immune to his powers and plans against us. For we are Yours, Elohim, YHVH and it is Your GRACE (withheld deserved judgment) and MERCY (unmerited favor) that protects us and provide us with the power of Your Holy Spirit! Father, send the refiner’s fire and launderer’s soap upon us, purge us of all impurities and imperfections and immerse us with fire from the Set Apart Ruach Ha-Kodesh. In the Mighty Name of Yehoshua. Yehmein

  10. Heavenly father I lift up Mosul into your loving hands and pray your blessing upon them. As you chose Jonah to deliver your message to the people of nineveh and the people believed your message likewise I fervently pray that you will appoint anointed men of god to preach your word in Mosul especially in Isis dorminated places. Thank you lord that there’s going to be mass conversion and many stubborn and repentant hearts will turn to you for mercy and be saved. I seal the borders of Mosul in your most precious blood and in faith I believe your Almighty hand will protect and save them . amen.

  11. Lord Jesus, I come before You, confessing that I have anger in my heart toward ISIS. I have read reports of the cruel and barbaric things they are doing to Christians and it makes me angry. Lord, I thought of not praying anymore for ISIS. Please forgive me and give me Your heart. Please forgive and remove the anger from my heart.
I know that You love the members of ISIS and You died for them. So, Lord Jesus, I pray that You would send the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts and turn their hearts to You. Just as the Ninevites repented and cried out to You and were saved, I pray that the members of ISIS will repent, turn to You and be saved. Than You for loving all mankind, dearest Lord. Amen

  12. Dear Father, we are still praying. We are still trusting you. We know you win. Thank you for the courage of your People of the Cross. Thank you for those in isis who will repent today and come to Jesus. Thank you for the victory of the death and resurrection of Jesus! We give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  13. Dear Father, your Word says Jesus stands at the door and knocks. Please compel these terrorists to hear and open their hearts to him. Please protect your people in miraculous ways today. Thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  14. Dear Lord, as spoken to Jonah, You care for the loss in the isis and in Mosul. Help us to hold on to our faith that you breakthrough in your own way. Let the resurrection power seen in Jonah’s release from the bottom of the sea be seen in those deeply submerged in deception. Let there be physical and spiritual deliverance in Mosul in Jesus’ name.

  15. Lord God, we pray for Your Spirit to bring conviction of sin to the people of Mosul as well as a heart of repentance to those who will forsake their evil ways and turn to Christ Jesus, their Redeemer!

  16. Dear Father, please help. Overthrow the evil demonic forces controlling Mosul and all isis members. Please let your kingdom come in Mosul today. Thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  17. Oh Lord Jesus, rip through the hearts of the evil men controlling Mosul. Turn them from their evil ways, just as You turned the Ninevites. I bind the spirit of destruction that is over Mosul, in the name of Jesus, and loose God’s love. May Your will be done. May Your kingdom come.

  18. Dear Father, ramadan and more threats and more violence–How true that we see dimly, that our hearts’ first response so often is fear. Like the disciples we cry out for you in the storm, you answer, and then we forget the next time, so we don’t look for you walking on the water. We see you feed 5000, and we don’t say , “Do it again!” when there are only 4000 to feed. Please, dear Father, forgive our unbelief and continue to do awesome things–things for which we did not look, which we don’t see or hear about, miracles of salvation, protection, provision, and demonstrations of your power. Please glorify your name today; and if you wouldn’t mind, may we hear about it and rejoice because you are so good? Thank you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  19. Father,
I have just learned of the mass execution of 600 Yzadi Christians by IS terrorists. I don’t know where they were, but they are now with you. Father, bring this and all the terrorists’ actions to the forefront of Christians for prayer and fasting like the people of Nineveh. Father we are more responsible than we can ever grasp for our failure to pray for these our brothers and sisters in Christ. Forgive us and our nation and bring Your healing touch to our world.
Break the hearts of the terrorists with what breaks Your Heart. Turn them from their wicked ways and protect our brothers and sisters in Christ! Amen

  20. Dear Father, you said, “Should I not pity Nineveh, that great city in which are more than 120,000 persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left–and much livestock?” You are the same now as you were then, and your mercies are new this very morning. Please sovereignly move on the hearts of these terrorists. They are even more deceived and ignorant than Jonah’s Ninevites. Please bring them to repentance and put a stop to their evil ways. Please restore to your people all that the enemy has stolen from them. Let your grace and mercy storm Mosul now, so that every knee will bow willingly to worship Jesus. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
