Day 21 – Captives and Salvation by Faith

[Rahab said] “And as soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.” Joshua 2:11

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;

to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. – Isaiah 61:1-3

Pray that God would reveal the truth about grace. In the story above, a prostitute (and her family) are the only ones that escape the wrath of God. Why? Was it because she was a good person and followed God’s laws? No, but she believed God and was saved by faith. Pray that God would reveal that salvation is not by works but by faith in the sacrifice and power of Jesus.

Pray also for those that have been taken captive (or live in an occupied city). Pray that God would cause them to “melt with fear” for him and not just with the rulers of the city. Pray that like Rahab that they would truly see who the Lord is and serve him. Pray that would fear God above all else. Pray that the Lord would set them free.

 have prayed.

    Dear Lord,even as you have assigned your servants to pray for those in captivity, deploy your holy angels called Fishers of men to locate en fish out all those held captivity spiritually. Also Continue to strengthen those that are held captivity physically in different nations. Wedecree en declare tha those demonic forces will know no peace until they realize those in captivity in Christ Jesus’s name.

    Dear Lord, I pray that You will open the eyes of the hearts of every single member of ISIS so that they see You as You really are. May they be justified through faith and know that Peace of God which comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. Teach them that it is only by Grace that they can be saved through faith and not from anything they do themselves. It is the wonderful gift of God. I pray that the Holy Spirit will produce in them this kind of fruit in their lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Amen

    Dear Lord and Father, we pray that your grace be upon isis members, that they be given a breakthrough by the power of your love, that their measure of faith be activated to come to know and accept your offer of becoming a child of your kingdom of peace. I pray that they would come to you by faith rather than by any work as they have been taught in the Islam belief. I pray that their spiritual eyes be opened to the peace in those that believe in you. Thank you Father God for those that will choose to accept you and put their faith in what Jesus Christ did to save them and us. In Jesus name.
