Day 22 – Prayer for the “king”

See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor.” – Joshua 6:2

On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. – Revelation 19:16

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world— to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” – John 18:36-38

And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives— the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” – Luke 19:36-40

Today we want to ask the Lord for the king. Pray for the salvation of the current leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi also known as Al-Khalifah Ibrahim. Pray that God would make him to be a leader that draws the men below him into truth and to the Lord. Pray that he would know Jesus as King and that he would lead the people according to his rule.

“Day 22 – Prayer for the “king””

  1. Open the eyes of his heart Lord that he may see you as You really are; high and lifted up; sitting on Your Throne; reaching out to all those who reject You because of Your Love for them. May he see You as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, bow down before You and surrender his life to You, his sins forgiven and set free from the chains that bind him to the enemy. May we join our love with Your Love and smother all sinners and perpetrators of evil with it until they are all redeemed and they rejoice in their salvation by praising You oh Lord. Amen
