Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. – John 5:24

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. – Romans 6:4-14

Deir ez-Zor is also a major province controlled by ISIS. Deir in Arabic means monastery. It has Christian heritage but unfortunately it is known as the place of the Armenian genocide. Currently it is known as a place of mass death, but let us pray that God would make it a place of life.

On each one of them and upon this city I put on the full Armour of God; the Belt of Truth and the Helmet of Salvation; the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shield of Faith, the Shoes of Peace and the Sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, the Word of God. Set Your Holy Angels around Deir el Zor and all the people who live there. Set them around their homes and families and all their material possessions. 10. Father,
Breathe Your life affirming Spirit into Deir ez-Zor and all of the regions of Syria where death has reigned. Pull out of ISIS those You are calling into the Kingdom. Thwart the plans of those who devise wicked schemes and take hearts of stone and turn them into hearts of flesh .
    Amen

  11. Father, in the beginning, when You created the heavens and the earth, Your Holy Spirit hovered over the waters. You called forth light and separated light from darkness. Holy Spirit, hover over the Middle East, call forth Your light to shine in this dark region. Bring Your life, light and love into the hearts of these people. Turn them away from death and make this area a place of life through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In His Most Holy Name, Amen

  12. Father, We come to your throne of grace today to ask you for your divine exchange to take place in this major province of Deir ex- noir. This is where mass deaths have taken place & we pray that now your resurrection life will come instead. May many ISIS members come to you as you pour out your love & grace to them. Where there has been death we speak new life into each one. In the mighty power of Jesus Name we most humbly pray! AMEN!

  13. Father, You are the restorer of all things. I pray that Your foot would touch every place on the Earth. This is Your footstool. Let us be blessed by Your feet which bring good news. Please bring the good news of Your peace, not just for the wicked strongholds of ISIS, but for the whole Earth, because the Earth is Yours. Please come and claim it, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on Earth. Even so, come, Prince of Peace.

  14. Dear Father, Rosh Hashanah starts at sundown, and 10 Days of Awe begin. You call your people to repentance. Here we are watching another genocide and worse, if that were possible. In Amos 7, the prophet cried for mercy and you answered him twice. Please be merciful again and stop all this slaughter in Syria and throughout the Middle East. Please stop the lies of islam and the conspiracies of all the nations against Israel. Protect your people as they seek you in the next 10 days. Bring millions to a saving knowledge of Jesus and surrender to him. We thank you for what you will do today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  15. Dear Father, how great you are! It is a fearful thing to fall into your hands. But as David said, it’s better to be in your hands than anywhere else, even in the midst of your judgment, because you are merciful at the same time you are just. Thank you. Please show your mercy to muslims in the Middle East today. Open their eyes and hearts to Jesus. Please come and do awesome things that cause them to see their need for you, and their end apart from you. Please do that for all of us–remind us in a fresh way of how very great you are. Please give us the grace to really worship you so that the rocks don’t have to cry out. We thank you for each person you will save today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  16. Dear Father, there is a call for 3 days of repentance, fasting, and prayer for deliverance today. There’s so much for which we as a nation must repent, including complacency, prayerlessness, tolerating false gods, and relegating you to the level of every other “religion.” I repent of all that, Lord. You are the Almighty, the Sovereign Lord, and no one even comes close to comparing to you. Give us grace to really begin to see that truth, as a nation. Please open the eyes of muslims here in the US to see the truth. Please restore your name and blessing to Deir el Zor and all of the lands controlled by islam. Please help us to turn to Jesus. Thank you for your mercy and amazing love. Thank you for all the muslims you will save today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  17. Dear Father, today is July 4. Independence Day. 240 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed. How the mighty have fallen. It’s possible that in the spirit realm we’re in a similar mess to Deir el Zor, with the culture of death we’ve embraced. Thank you that you have protected is from a major isis attack so far. Please continue to have mercy, Lord. We keep praying for isis and all muslims, that they would see who and what they are in your eyes, and that they would choose Jesus, not their rock idol, and life, not death. And please restore America to her first love, her first covenant with you. Please annul our covenant with death. Thank you for the spiritual deliverance and freedom available to us and all muslims through Jesus. We bless our enemies, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  18. Dear Father, it’s Memorial Day, and we remember. You established this nation on the foundation of your Word. Our armed forces fought and died for our freedom, and more recently for freedom of the people of many muslim countries. The monastery of Deir el Zor was founded on your Word too. Please deliver it from islam. Please bless those who are fighting to deliver it from isis and the tyranny of islam. Thank you for all those you will save today. Keep them safe and give them boldness to tell the truth of Jesus. We give you praise and honor in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  19. Dear Father, the song today says you have all the answers that we seek. Sometimes I don’t even know the question. I pray for a heart of repentance–the real kind that truly confesses and turns 180 degrees from sin and self. Thinking about genocide and the holocaust and the evil, wretched heart that’s our sin nature—there’s no difference between me and any muslim except for Jesus. Please bring thousands of muslims to Jesus today. Be the answer to their questions, even if they don’t know they have any. Please protect your people Israel and all Jews as they celebrate Passover today. Please stop the genocide of Christians today. Thank you for what you will do, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  20. Dear Father, it’s Monday of Holy Week. Perhaps this is the day to think about Jesus cursing the fig tree on his way into Jerusalem. He said in Matthew 21:22, “if you believe, whatever you ask for in prayer will be granted.” He says that in the context of asking for big things. I believe you can do beyond what I can ask or even think, so I ask for an end to isis and their reign of terror. But more focused than that I pray for protection over Washington, DC, and the AIPAC meetings there. And I ask that you will save muslims in this monastery city, Deir el Zor, if anyone is still living there after all it has been through. Thank you for what you will prevent today, and for what you will do to bring thousands of muslims to Jesus. We give you praise and glory and honor in Jesus’ name. Amen.
