Day 15 – Patience

Speak these verses over them:

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! – Psalm 27:14

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. – Psalm 37:7-9

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. – Psalm 130:5-6

Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. – James 5:7-11

Pray that God would give ISIS members patience. Pray that God would give them a longing to “wait on the Lord” and to seek his face. Pray that they would know the great patience God has with us and that from that knowledge they too would find the ability to forbear with others.

  1. Dear Lord I bring each member of ISIS before You and pray that You will grant them patience and endurance which will enable them to do Your Will. Then will they be able to receive all that You have promised. For You O Lord are patient and kind and You don’t want any of them to perish but that all of them should come to repentance. Teach them that it is better to be patient than powerful and better to have self control than to conquer the world by fear and every kind of evil. Bring Your Love and Laughter into their lives so that the Holy Spirit will produce all the fruits of the spirit in them – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Amen
