Day 17 – Goodness

Speak these verses over them:

Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The Lord.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. – Exodus 33:18-19

I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! – Psalm 27:13-14

Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! – Psalm 31:19

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. – Titus 3:4-7

Pray that they would know the goodness of God. Pray that they would know how he uses everything for good even the current situation. Pray that they would be able to see his goodness in all circumstances. Pray that the goodness of the Lord would pass before them and that they would be changed as Moses was. Pray that they too would seek to spread the goodness of the Lord through their words and actions.

  1. Lord Jesus, I am having a hard time praying for ISIS. I feel angry with the atrocities they commit, and yet, Lord, Your death paid for their sin. You endured the pain of the punishment they deserve. Your desire is that all would be saved. Lord, I chose to turn my anger over to You. Please, create in me a heart of compassion like Yours, and please give me Your heart and mind, that I might love as You love, and forgive as You forgive. I pray that You will bring good out of all the tragedy we have seen in Iraq and Syria and in France. Lord, draw souls to You, I pray. In the name of Jesus our Savior, amen!

  2. Dear Father, you have already done everything necessary to bring all men to salvation. I pray for those who are bringing your truth to isis and all muslims. Set up divine appointments with those you are drawing to Jesus, those to whom you have given dreams, those who really want truth. You are good, Lord. Help these who know their god is false to find you, the one true God. Please open hearts today. Please protect your people of the Cross and your people Israel. We give you thanks and praise in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  3. Abba Father, God of Love and Righteousness, the great and awesome God, Yehovah who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keeps His commandments, let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, to hear the prayer of Your servant that I now pray before You day and night for the People who follow the wrong gods. For those who have not properly kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules that You commanded Your servant Moses. Forgive them and have Mercy. We ask Your Blessings on behalf of all people of all nations (the coat of many colors representing the covering over many nations) to take the scales from their eyes and open them to see truth so that we can share and walk together in Peace, Joy, and Love, not being selfish or self-righteous, but to have an everlasting honest love and respect for each other. We fight evil spirits and principalities not each other. We pray Your loving kindness, envelop them in Your peace, and bestow Your light and truth upon their leaders, ministers, and advisors, and grace them with Your good counsel. Draw our hearts together to revere and venerate Your Name in Yehoshua’s Mighty Name. Yehmein

  4. Dear god you are the source of goodness and a god full of goodness. Lord we pray for all the isis members. Forgive them for what they are doing because you are a god who forgives all our iniquities. Reveal yourself to them with your goodness and mercy; and may your goodness and mercy follow them all the days of their life. May their lives be transformed and by the working of your spirit may they be filled with goodness and see goodness in others too through the fruit of your spirit. In jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.

  5. Father I pray for those members of isis, who like Saul, think they are doing your will. Please open their eyes as you did for Saul/Paul. No where in your Word do you tell us to be cruel to our enemies – even when they are in the wrong. Goodness and mercy are what you require of us. Speak to their hearts that they would embrace your goodness and mercy for themselves as well as for others. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

  6. Dear Father, the apostles asked Jesus to teach them to pray. I ask the same thing. I need you to soften this heart with the rain of your presence. I need to see isis and islam from your perspective. Isis and all muslims need to see the truth of Jesus. You are good, Father. I ask you to open all human eyes to your goodness–those who worship you to see deeper into your love; those who don’t to be amazed at who you really are. Please stop the advance of islam into the nations. But I’m not totally sure that’s an appropriate prayer. I think I will fall back on the one prayer that is always effective and fervent, and that accomplishes much, no matter what we see: let your Kingdom come and let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Keep me praying today. Thank you for your goodness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  7. Lord, there is hope in your goodness; there’s power in your goodness and mercy; I pray for your goodness to be shown in your own ways to ISIS. I pray that their hearts be convicted as your goodness radiates from Christians they have victimized. In Jesus’ name.

  8. Dear Father, you saw the prayer I typed in and lost, that you wait to be gracious to us, from Isaiah 30:18. I add to that and ask that you open the blinded eyes of those trapped in islam so they will no longer call their evil good. Jesus said only YOU are good. Help isis and all unbelievers to see your truth. I know that’s a big prayer, but you are such a great and good and loving God! Be glorified today, dear Father. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  9. Lord God, you are good. Please draw ISIS members to you that they will surrender to you and repent. May they see and taste how wonderfully good you are. Touch these hearts of stone and change them to hearts of flesh. Reveal your Father heart to them. May Jesus become real to them.

  10. Father God, hear the prayers of your people who are called by your name. It is a cry of pain caused by more sad and ugly news in our beloved country. As we wait on you, renew our strength as you promised. We hear of more secularization in our government and condoning of evil acts. It hurts, but as Job says, Though He slays me, still I praise you and wait on you. In Jesus’ name.

  11. Dear Father, you are good. Your original plan was that man would be very good. Ultimately you’ll make all things good again. But right now things are not good, to say the least. Isis murders 4 Marines and a Navy seaman, and we light up the Empire State Building in honor of ramadan ending. We have encouraged their idolatry. We have put demons above you. If it would do any good, we would shred our garments like Nehemiah and Ezra. We are ashamed and scared. I’m not even sure what to pray except to repent on behalf of this nation, and on behalf of muslims who, as Jesus said, know not what they do. Please, Lord, in your goodness and mercy, help us. We would rather fall into your hands, even in your justifiable wrath. I am so sorry, Jesus. Please work all this for good, because you can. I give you praise and thanks no matter what. Amen.

  12. Dear Father, we’re waiting. That’s what you told us to do in Psalm 27:14. We’re waiting to see your goodness in the land of the living, as David did. We believe and we will be of good courage, because your Word teaches us to pray and wait, and you will strengthen our hearts. We pray for those being terrorized by isis. Strengthen their hearts, Lord. Please use these servants of yours to show your goodness to those who are tormenting them. What the devil has intended for evil, please turn to good, and save these deluded ones, because you are good and your mercy endures forever. We look expectantly for what you will do even today, Lord. You are raising up more people who will pray, and we know you are answering. Thank you for building our faith as we watch and wait, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  13. Eph 3v14-20 and Eph 3v10 (NIV) God’s intent was that, through the church, (wow I am included in this) the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authority in the heavenly realms …. (I am assuming the heavenly realms here related to the principalities and powers which we wrestle with on a daily basis).
Lord may the manifold wisdom of You be made known to ISIS leaders and may some of these change their evil ways. Glory.

  14. Dear Father, with whom would we compare you? We do know, as Isaiah says, we do hear, we have been told that you sit above the circle of the earth. Our ways are not hidden from you. You do not grow weary. And we who wait on you will renew our strength. Please renew the strengh of your people being terrorized by Isis, even now here in the US. Show these isis members and all muslims your goodness and bring them to Jesus. Open their eyes to their idolatry. Save them and render them harmless, please, O God. We pray in Jesus’ name and for His glory. Amen.

  15. I agree with all the prayers gone up to the throne of our Mighty, Marvelous Daddy God! Let Your Mighty hand reach out to ISIS and FLIP everything that they have been doing!!! Loving, Praising, Worshipping, Giving…Doing and being the Children of their Triune God! Father God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit! Yes! Turn ISIS upside-down!!! In JESUS’ NAME! Amen!

  16. Dear Father, when Moses asked to see your glory, you said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass before you… Moreover, I show favor to whomever I will and I display mercy to whomever I will.” Please choose to display favor and mercy to these terrorists and all those people trapped in islam. Thank you for choosing to show us your goodness and glory through salvation in Jesus. We give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  17. Father in Heaven,
You alone are Good. All creation was declared good before the fall. Now we plead for Your goodness to be revealed for those who seek You. Show your mercy in drawing members of IS away from their deadly plans into worship of You in truth.
It is so heard to see how You will bring good out of this present shocking, inhumane and diabolical situation. Give us the faith to believe and the conviction to continue to plead for mercy for these deluded souls.
    Amen

  18. Dear Father,
How closely and inseparably intertwined are your Glory and your Goodness and your Mercy. Thank you for allowing us to see just glimpses of these qualities–and even those glimpses are overwhelming. How awesome you are! Surely you can do the same for these blinded slaves of satan. Help them to want out of the trap they are in, and in your goodness and mercy draw them to you. We pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
