Day 25 – Pray for Raqqa, Syria

Click on the map on the right to enlarge and print it.
Raqqa is the main ISIS stronghold in Syria. It is referred to as the birthplace of ISIS. It means swamp or bog.

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!

You have multiplied, O Lord my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told. – Psalm 40:1-5

Pray that God would draw those in Raqqa “up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set [their] feet upon a rock [Jesus!] Pray for God to rescue them; apart from him pulling them out they are lost! Speak this Psalm over this city seven times and pray for God to bring it pass. He will put a new song in their mouths!

  1. Dear Father, the song today says you are more than enough. It’s who you are: bigger, stronger, more beautiful, more loving, more merciful. We bless you, Lord. Thank you for those you will save today from the evil of islam and from all the demonic lies and deceptions that chain the unsaved and blind them to the truth and love of Jesus. We believe you for all you will do today that is beyond anything we could ask or even think. We give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  2. Father I lift up the city of Raqa to You. You who formed the earth and all that is within it, You who created all the people living there. You know them all by name. You know their innermost thoughts. You see them yearning for rest and peace and and only You can give it. Only You are a refuge whem thomhs turn bad through the people on the earth, We create misey and pain and chaos but You give rest and peace an everlasting peace in the midst of turmoil. Father come down and touch these people to the glory of Your Name.

  3. Dear Father, I pray Psalm 40:1-3 from The Voice today.
I waited a long time for the Eternal; He finally knelt down to hear me. He listened to my weak and whispered cry. He reached down and drew me from the deep, dark hole where I was stranded, mired in the muck and clay. With a gentle hand He pulled me out to set me down safely on a warm rock; He held me until I was steady enough to continue the journey again. As if that were not enough, because of Him my mind is clearing up. Now I have a new song to sing–a song of praise to the One who saved me. Because of what He’s done, many people will see and come to trust in the Eternal.
Please Lord, let that be the prayer of thousands of muslims today. Invade raqqa and bring truth to that place–to every soul there. Thank you for what you will do today. We give you praise and honor and glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  4. Lord you wept over the city of Jerusalem. We join you now in weeping over the City of Raqqa.
Lord we cry out to you for the families, the children, the elderly. Restrain evil and grant peace.

  5. Dear Father, thank you for your Word. You teach us, you talk to us, you comfort us by your Word. It’s pure truth. Living by your Word is freedom. Please give muslims the interest, the curiosity, the desire to read your Word, and let them see the total difference between it and the demonic lies of their koran. Unless you draw them they are like the herd of pigs in Mark 5, hurtling down the hillside to drown in the sea. Save them, Lord, please. Thank you for another day of your protection. Thank you for all you will do today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  6. Dear Father, there is no God but you. We have no other rock but you, nor would we ever want another. We know you because you had mercy on us. We are so very grateful for salvation through Jesus. We pray your Word again–it’s not your will that any should perish but that all should come to eternal life in Jesus. Please bring thousands out of the swamp of raqqa into the beauty of Jesus. We’re watching and waiting and believing. We give you praise, and we exalt you for what you will do today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  7. Abba Father let us understand who is who in today’s people…
(following Creator) Life-Sarah Hagar-Death (Muslims following wrong god). Your holy Word says, there is NONE, You wish to perish. We love You Abba Father and know Your prophecies must come to fruition. We trust in You even when we do not fully understand. We know you will bring good out of the evil everyday mishaps, petty arguments, natural disasters, turmoil, wars, and senseless killings. I ask for supernatural revelation to those cold hearted, those sitting on the fence, backsliders, and those who know You not. Help us to deepen our Faith, stand on it, and share it in prayers, actions and deeds that will bring Your Kingdom, New Jerusalem to Earth. We are dependent upon You and say this end time prayer for the spiritual warfare we are involved in daily. Everything intended to harm us, Yehovah intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives (Gen. 50:20). We decree and declare that souls will be added daily to the Body of Yehoshua, and we ask for the release of angels to minister to the heirs of salvation! In the Mighty Name of Yehoshua. Yehmein

  8. Father,
As the children of Israel marched seven times around Jericho, so we pray with earnest over Raqqua to draw the ones You will call away from the lie of Islam. Put their feet on the Rock of Christ and let it amaze and bring fear to those around them. As Saul became Paul and was a mighty church leader, so let these converts become mighty true leaders, able to refute the error of Islam and melt the hearts of those with whom they have previously served the lie.

  9. God of heaven and earth for your namesake for your mercy sake because you do not hold our sin against us, pour out your mercy upon Raqqa and envelope the city with your glory that your name will be lifted high and men will be drawn to you in Jesus name I pray.

  10. Loving god I come into your presence and I prostrate myself before you and worship you and lift up my highest praises to you and as I lift up my praises to you, may you be enthroned on my praises.
There is none like you lord, you are almighty, all-powerful, loving and one true god.
Lord I lift up my prayer on behalf of raqqah in Syria. Lord send michael the archangel along with your warring angels to fight the battle against the demoniac forces in raqqah. Lord raqqah is the stronghold of Isis and referred to as the birth place of Isis. I seal the Isis in the most precious blood of Jesus and also the borders of raqqah in Syria. In faith, I believe that you will show your omnipotence and demonstrate that Satan’s power cannot stand before the power that is there in your precious blood which you shed at Calvary for our deliverance. Thank you almighty god that you will save raqqah and the entire nation of Syria and tread down their adversaries for the battle belongs to you.
Victory in the blood of Jesus. Syria the lord Jesus is thy light and salvation why should you fear. The lord is thy strength, whom should you be afraid of.

  11. Dear Father, you are our focus. Please let your Spirit make intercession according to Romans 8:26-27 because I don’t know what to pray other than all we have prayed these past 7 months. Thank you for the testimony of the latest group of Christian martyrs. We know what happened when persecution hit the early Church, and how you spread the faith to the known world. I believe you are doing that now, even though I have not heard many reports. We know you win, Lord. We speak to the gates of raqqa, and we say, “Lift up your heads, O ye gates, that the King of glory might come in.” Please come, Lord. We welcome you into raqqa, into all of the Middle East, and into our hearts and lives today. Thank you for all you will do today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  12. Thank you for your faithfulness as we agree with all the prayers lifted up in this prayer effort for Raqqa. Lord, we believe that you desire for all to have everlasting life We pray that you reach out to those who are lost as You have reached out to us while we were lost. IN Jesus name.

  13. Dear Father, The Message translation for Psalm 40 says:
“I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened. He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn’t slip.”
That rock is Jesus. It’s not that black idolatrous rock in mecca. Please deliver isis and all muslims from this horrible delusion. Please visit raqqa in your way.
Verse 6 says: “Doing something for you, bringing something to you–that’s not what you’re after. Being religious, acting pious–that’s not what you’re asking for. You’ve opened my ears so I can listen.”
Please open these ears deafened by lies and evil. Please come today to visit raqqa. Save this city as a firstfruits of the salvation of all isis members and the deliverance of all those enslaved to islam. Thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  14. Oh Lord, I cry out to You on behalf of Raqqa, the headquarters of ISIS. I ask You to move through the hearts of ISIS leadership like a wildfire. Bring many of them to repentance. Do miracles among them. Raise up Pauls among these Sauls. Transform Raqqa into a place where You are freely and frequently worshipped.

  15. Dear Father, Isaiah 65:1 says you were sought by those who did not ask for you and were found by those who did not seek you. You said, “Here I am,” to a nation not called by your name. I pray that you would do that and be found by those entrapped in islam, who are serving a demonic idol. Please call them and save them. Please stop them from continuing their attacks on your people. You are the only hope and help we–or they–have. Please answer us, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  16. Dear Father, we thank you for what you are doing in raqqa and throughout the world to thwart the evil plots of Isis and to bring these people face to face with Jesus. We are trusting that you will bring them to see their condition and their desperate need for your truth. We are trusting you to bring the rest of the nations to repentance. It’s a big big prayer, but you are more than able to answer it. We pray according to your will and in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  17. Father,
Not by might but by Your Spirit. Lord of the Hosts of Heaven, we agree that You are able to more than we can imagine!

  18. “What will wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” For those caught up in the religion of Islam this is what we ask for Father. That the lie of the enemy would be shattered by the word of God. May they experience the love of God.

  19. Abba Father, Let your love wash over ragga and change the atmosphere in Isis camp to fill them with your love and grace, overpowering the hate and deception they were raised in. Love never fails. It fills that void with every thing they need as your sons and daughters. Thank you for loving them Father.
In the name of Jesus Christ o Nazareth.

  20. Dear Father,
Thank you for your Word, which you have exalted above your own Name. We have prayed your Word, Psalm 40, and we believe you will work in the hearts of the people deluded by islam, members of isis, and all those tempted to join them. Please do draw them out of the swamp of destruction. And please cause their plots and plans to destroy your church and your people to come to nothing. Thank you in advance for answering our prayers, in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
